Happy Friday!
Are you ready for some sweet Spanish music? I’ve got a Friday Song for you…
La canción de viernes: Hoy by Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan released this song in 2003 in both Spanish and English. The English version is called Wrapped.

The video for this song was filmed in Peru in the legendary city of Machu Picchu; and the lyrics for the song were written by Gian Marco Zignago, a Peruvian songwriter and singer.
Here are the lyrics in Spanish for Hoy, the (almost) literal translation and the English lyrics for Wrapped. I’ve included lyrics up to the end of the first chorus.
Hope you enjoy the music. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for sharing this song! I love the more literal translation. So poetic and pretty. 🙂
It is. Don’t see why there are so many changes in the “Wrapped” version… but I’m not a songwriter 😉
It is interesting to see how the two versions are alike and different all at the same time.
Yup. Language. Lol
I love Gloria Estefan. Thanks for sharing!
Very welcome! I love her 80s and 90s stuff as well. Will have to go play some 🙂
Definitely. I loved the movie “Music of the Heart,” too.
