The passion of love, the passion of life are brilliantly evoked in Pablo Neruda’s poetry. He wrote about love, the effects of being in love, the fire, the agony and the despair of love lost. In life, he was married a few times. Relationships with each wife seeming to have overlapped with previous relationships… He was a man of experience, clearly, and his life’s experiences both romantic and political certainly impacted his writing.
In my sky at twilight is a poem that seems to celebrate the intoxicating emotions of new love. It is also a poem about Neruda’s homeland, Chile, which was about to enter some turbulent times.

I really enjoyed both the Spanish and English versions of this poem/ poema. I hope you did too!
I love the English translation. It’s so beautiful it takes my breath. But I enjoyed listening to the Spanish version too. I especially loved the sound of the “Eres mia, eres mia.” It’s lovely.
It is. I’m glad you liked it too. ☺ï¸
So beautiful!
